Alongside our Maori games sessions, we offer healthy eating education for tamariki/rangatahi and their whanau with regular in-home visits, conducted by our chef Sammy Lee and nutrition advisor Alana Richardson who hold cooking demonstrations of nutritous, tasty, quick and affordable dishes.  Sammy is responsible for the cooking demonstration while Alana explores some nutrition options with the whanau, specifically designed to encourage the tamariki/rangatahi of the home to take a lead in the process. The pair examine the eating habits of the whanau and then suggest easy and affordable alternatives with recipes and other health information.

These meals are made using basic common household foods with an emphasis on fruits, veggies and lean protein sources.   This helps the whanau to become aware of how easy it is to provide versatile healthy meals as well as options for better food choices.
